Peste 2.000 de persoane au fost evacuate din casele lor, în acest weekend, după ce un incendiu de pădure care se extinde cu repeziciune a izbucnit sâmbătă în munţii insulei spaniole Gran Canaria.

Incendiul din zona nordică-centrală a insulei s-a răspândit rapid, la peste 400 de hectare, a precizat într-un comunicat consilierul pentru securitate al autorităţilor din insulele Canare Julio Perez, care spunea aseară că se aşteaptă la o noapte complicată, întrucât sunt prognozate vânturi puternice.

Incendiul a izbucnit sâmbătă seară în oraşul Valleseco şi în satul Tejeda din apropierea, care a mai fost afectat de un incendiu cu o săptămână în urmă. Mai multe alte cartiere din apropiere sunt de asemenea evacuate.

Incendiul de săptămâna trecută, acum izolat, a izbucnit lângă Artenara, la circa 8 km sud-vest de Valleseco, şi s-a extins pe o suprafaţă de 1.500 de hectare, potrivit Agerpres, care citează El Pais.
